i’m a fan of keeping photos real, and to me that means no studios. i’m happy to suggest some outdoor locations nearby where you live, or we can take advantage of the cozy familiar quality of your own home! (and no, it doesn’t matter that you don’t have a “nice house” or “clean house”…YOU and the ones you love best will be the stars of the show).

the vibe is totally up to you, but i’d always recommend staying clear of crazy prints or logos so that the faces (and hopefully smiles!) can be the stars of the show. if you have a group/family, try to pick a color family and coordinate each person to be a slight variation of that color/palette. everyone in matching white shirts will look very 2003. everyone in their random favorite shirts will look messy.
if you need help with this part of the process, just let me know and i’m happy to give feedback on your plan!

my goal is to make this as pain-free as possible!! trust me, i hate being in front of a camera too. i think the best photos are the kind where you forget you’re being photographed, so i’ll do my best to make it feel relaxed and natural. they’ll make for better pictures too!

having a newborn is kind of like having a bop-it (remember that game??). you never really know what you’re going other get from them at any moment. my best advice is to not stress about what they’ll do. a newborn shoot is unique in that we are completely on you and your baby’s timeline. if they need to eat, feed them. if they need a diaper change (or five), change them. if they need a little timeout to be swaddled and put to sleep, go for it. baby’s in charge. and guess what? all of those little moments are the ones i want to capture for you anyways!
some tips for helping move the session along productively is to try to feed them ahead of the session time so they’re more likely to be content, keep the house slightly warmer to keep them comfy, and stick to one outfit (if possible…i know there can be reasons why you have to change them cough #2’s cough).
if you’re looking for true newborn photos, try to aim for booking a session between 1-3 weeks old. they’re still so little that we can take advantage of their sleepiness and capture the sweet details that will change quickly. also baby acne can appear near/shortly after that window, and i won’t edit that out of photos.
if you’re looking for newborn pictures that have a little more of your baby’s personality, try opting for a session in the 8-12 week range. they’ll likely be smiling, responding to your voice, and staying awake a bit longer by then, which can produce some very cute opportunities for photos! just plan to try and time the session for the beginning of their wake window, and i’ll be flexible on the rest!

i understand the feeling that trying to get your toddlers to take professional pictures might be similar to asking cats to voluntarily take a bath. lucky for you, i am completely fluent in toddler behavior (mom of three here!). we’ll keep things fun and light, let them be silly, and capture them exactly as they are.
& if your little one is usually shy around new people, take a breather. i’ll make sure to take my time and get to know your little loves before we ever begin clicking away.

no. my pricing is inclusive of the rights to download, share, and print your gallery for personal use. it’s something i’ve always looked for whenever i’m searching for a photographer, and i want to extend the peace of knowing your all-in price ahead of time.

factors that can increase the price of a session include things like travel distance, whether your session location requires permitting, if you have a large group being photographed, or just a special request out of the ordinary!

my business is faceless for anyone under 18 years of age. that means in all of my marketing (this website, my social media, or anywhere else you might see my work in the public) you will never see a child’s full face. it’s important to me that everyone feels comfortable working with me and what i’ll share online. as for myself, i’ve never been comfortable sharing my children so i’ll never share yours without your consent either.
